Sweet Desserts For Valentine’s Day

Sweet Desserts For Valentine’s Day

The season of love is upon us and what better way to show your love for your customers than providing them with sweet dessert choices on your menu! Here are a couple of sweet desserts you can make quickly in your commercial microwaves this romantic season:

Hot Chocolate Truffles

The perfect mixture of sweet and crunchy rolled together into one! To create this dish quickly, you will first need to gather all the ingredients: 3oz of dark chocolate hot cocoa mix, 3.25oz chocolate pudding, 1/2 cup of dairy whipped topping, 1/2 cup of miniature marshmallows, 1 cup of premier white morsels, and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

First, place wafers and hot cocoa mix in a food processor bowl, and pulse wafers into fine crumbs. Add the chocolate pudding and dairy whipped topping to the bowl and pulse until the mixture forms a ball together. Then, add the marshmallows to the bowl and pulse. Next, roll the wafer mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a shallow baking pan with parchment paper to put into the freezer for 30 minutes (or until set).

Place the morsels and vegetable oil in a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds at a time*, stirring after every 30-second interval until completely melted. Roll truffle in the microwaved mixture until evenly coated, removing with a fork to let the excess drip off. Place on the pan and repeat with remaining truffles. Refrigerate 1 hour and store in an airtight container.

*Note: Microwave times are for a standard 1000-watt commercial microwave. Higher wattage microwaves will require less cook time.

Vanilla Chocolate Shot Glasses

An easy Valentine’s Day dessert that is sure to melt some hearts! To create this dish quickly, you will first need to gather all the ingredients: 1 small bag of white candy melts, 1 small bag of pink candy melts, and fillings of your choice (such as sprinkles cheesecake dip, whipped cream).

First, place each bag of candy melts in separate microwavable-safe bowls. Microwave each bowl on MEDIUM power for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after every 30-second interval. Do this for each bowl for a total of 2 minutes, making sure each bowl is fully melted. Pour each bowl into a shot glass mold and place it on a baking sheet in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to an hour. Pop the shot glasses out of the mold and fill with desired fillings.
